Workshop Series – Learn English through the lyrics of popular songs

At 5 Talbot Street, Dublin 1

Price: Free and open to all students!

Learn English through the lyrics of famous songs! This week, you will go through the lyrics of the song ‘Hotel California’ by the Eagles, focusing on the pronunciation of the words and on their meaning through listening and reading exercises. You’ll also understand the general sense of the song and discuss it. You can listen to it here.

Tuesday, 3rd July

Greystones to Bray Cliff Walk

Meet at 2pm at the school reception (5 Talbot Street)

Price: €9.25 DART return ticket

The east-coast walk is about 7 kilometres, starting from the bandstand on the Bray Promenade and ending at Greystones Harbour. The walk takes about 2 hours to complete and is suitable for all abilities. It is home to numerous types of seabirds and various types of colourful wildflowers that add to the natural beauty of the walk. The keen observer might also spot dolphins, black harbour porpoises and basking sharks swimming in the waters around the Cliff. Wear comfortable shoes!

Wednesday, 4th July

Visit to: Dalkey

Meet at 2pm at the school reception (5 Talbot Street)

Price: €6.15 DART return ticket

Come with us for a walk in the lovely village of Dalkey. Take a stroll in the past, enjoy the views…and practise some English with fellow students. Dalkey is a popular location, with a real village feel and is just half an hour from Dublin!

Friday, 6th July

School Pub Night at O’Donoghues

15 Merrion Row, Dublin

Price: Free in, buy your own drinks

From 9pm there (or meet us at 5 Talbot Street at 8.45pm)

O’Donoghues is a traditional pub build on a historical site. Its music heritage stands high as it hosted a lot of music legends in the past. Join us for a pint in its lovely beer garden and listen to come traditional Irish music.

Saturday, 7th July

Au Pair Club: Smoothie Party

Price: Free

From 1pm to 3pm at 45, Parnell Square West

Summer’s here and a nice smoothie seems to go with that simply too well! Join us to meet other au pairs, have a smoothie, chat and enjoy the summer mood in our sunny patio.

Sunday, 8th July

Trip to: Celtic Boyne Valley

Bus tickets: €30

Meet at the Molly Malone Statue on Suffolk Street @07:50. Bus leaves @08:00.
