Visit to St. Patrick’s Cathedral

Meet at 2pm at the reception at 5 Talbot Street.

This is a really important historical, religious and architectural site in Dublin. It is named after the patron saint who brought Christianity to Ireland. St Patrick’s Cathedral was founded in 1191, it is the largest church in Ireland and one of Dublin’s two Church of Ireland cathedrals. The writer and satirist Jonathan Swift, author of Gulliver’s Travels, was Dean of the cathedral from 1713 to 1745. His grave and epitaph can be seen in the cathedral, along with those of his friend Stella.

Music Workshop – Learn English through lyrics of popular songs

For this week only the music workshop will be held on Friday!

Learn English through the lyrics of famous songs! This week you will go through the lyrics of the song ‘Castle on the Hill’ by Ed Sheraan. Focus on the pronunciation of the words, through listening and reading exercises, and on their meaning! Get the general sense of the song and discuss it! Hear it here

Pub night: Workman’s Club

Price: Free in, buy your own drinks

Location: 10 Wellington Quay, Dublin 2

Meet there at 9pm or at the school reception at 8:50pm.

This pub, located by the Liffey, is developed over two floors: it is usually very busy and has great music! Come along, meet other students and practise your English while enjoying your Friday night at the Workman’s with us and a beer!

Saturday, 11th February

Au Pair Club Café

1pm to 3pm – At 5, Talbot Street

Price: Free and open to all au pairs!

Come and have a good cup of tea or coffee and some cake while enjoying the company of other au pairs.

Sunday, 12th February

Day Trip: Belfast Day tour

Departure: 08:00.

Meet 07:50 at Molly Malone Statue on Suffolk street.

Price: €40

Please note: This trip must be booked in advance. Book at the reception before Thursday lunchtime.

This trip includes visits to the Belfast Peace Wall, the Republican Museum, St Patrick’s Grave & Exhibition Centre at Downpatrick, Dundrum Castle, the Mourne Mountains and Gravity Hill.
