Tuesday Workshop Series – Learn English through lyrics of popular songs

Price: Free and open to all students!

Another workshop on learning English through the lyrics of famous songs! This time you will go through the lyrics of the song ‘I’m yours’ by Jason Mraz. Focus on the pronunciation of the words and on their meaning and get the general meaning of the song and discuss it! Hear it here.

Visit to Dublin Castle and Chester Beatty Library

Meet at the reception at 5 Talbot St at 2pm

Castle admission ticket: €5.50 with student ID

Chester Beatty library admission: FREE

Once a military fortress, a prison, treasury, courts of law and the seat of English Administration in Ireland for 700 years, Dublin Castle now functions as a site for important State receptions and Presidential Inaugurations. The Chester Beatty Library is on the ground of Dublin Castle and is renowned for its outstanding collection of Asian and Middle Eastern art.

Thursday, 29th September

Visit to Trinity College Library and the Book of Kells

Meet at 2pm at the reception at 5 Talbot Street.

Admission ticket: €8 if our group is formed by at least 10 people – otherwise €9 for ordinary student admission fee.

Join us on the visit to the magnificent Old library of Trinity College constructed in the 18th century. Moreover, it will be part of the tour the visit to the “Turning Darkness into Light” exhibition to the discovery of the Book of Kells: a 9th-century gospel manuscript famous throughout the world.

Friday, 30th September

Pub Night: O’Reillys

Price: Free in buy your own drinks

Location: Tara Street station

Meet there at 9pm or at the school reception at 8:50pm.

This lively Victoria-era pub has a very good buzz and what’s more drinks are among the cheapest in Dublin! Cheap beer, good music and cool people… what more can you ask? Come along and enjoy your Friday night with us!

Saturday 1st October

Au Pair Club café

1pm to 3pm – At 5, Talbot Street

Price: Free and open to all au pairs!

Relax and chit-chat while enjoying a good tea or coffee along with delicious sweets! Get to know other Au pair and, of course, practise your English!

Sunday 2nd October

Day Trip: Enniskerry Village & Powerscourt Gardens

Departure: 10:45 from Upper O’Connoll street, bus stop ID 272. Bus 44 to Enniskerry.

Meet at 10:20 outside the school.

Bus tickets: €5.20 return

Powerscourt Gardens admission ticket: €8 – Student with ID

Please note: Let us know if you are joining us by communicating it at the school reception or by sending us an email! There is no need to pay in advance.

We will meet outside the school at 10:20am. For those of you who want to join directly at the bus stop, the stop ID is number 272 on Upper O’Connell street. We will take the bus number 44, direction: Enniskerry. We will get off in Enniskerry village: from there Powerscourt Gardens are about 25 minute walking distance. Wear comfortable shoes! We will spend some time there, explore the gardens and enjoy our lunch and maybe have a coffee there (lunch and coffee are not included in price of the trip)! Once we are happy with our tour at Powerscourt we can head back to Enniskerry village and have a walk around there before catching the bus back to Dublin city centre.
