Tuesday Workshop Series: Learn English through lyrics of popular songs

Price: Free and open to all students!
Why not learn English through music? It’s fun and effective: go through the lyrics of the Eagles’ successful song ‘Hotel California’ with Marina, focus on the pronunciation of the words and on their meaning, get the general meaning of the song and discuss it!
Wednesday, 14th September
The National Museum of Ireland: Decorative Arts and History
Meet at 2:00pm at the reception at 5 Talbot Street
Pay a visit to the Decorative Arts and History museum where, along with the beautiful architecture of the building and the nice gardens surrounding it, you will discover weaponry, furniture, silver, ceramics, glassware, Asian art and the Asgard (a ship), as well as folklife and costume artefacts.
Thursday, 15th September
Visit to the Botanic Gardens
Meet at 2pm at the reception at 5 Talbot Street.
Enjoy the planted glasshouses, the herbaceous borders, the rose garden, the alpine yard, the pond area, the rock garden and a lot more at the Botanic Gardens!
Friday, 16th September
Culture Night: Visit to the Whiskey Museum (+ other places)
Meet at the school reception at 5pm
Discover the intriguing tale of Irish whiskey, its unique origins, its rise to glory, dramatic fall and current revival in this fantastic museum. What’s more is that – tonight only – it’s free! Also, have a walk around Dublin on this special day full of events and check out what interests you the most!
Pub night: The Porterhouse (Temple Bar)
Price: Free in, buy your own drinks
Location: 16-18 Parliament St, Dublin 2
Meet there at 9pm or at the school reception at 8:50pm.
The Porterhouse in Temple Bar is Dublin’s first pub brewery. It brew its own great beers and also offers a huge choice of different beers from all around the world. What’s great is also the live music there: both traditional music sessions and rock music are performed during the weekend!
Saturday 17th September
Au Pair Club Café
1pm to 3pm – At 5 Talbot Street
Price: Free and open to all au pairs!
Relax and chit-chat while enjoying a good tea or coffee along with delicious sweets! Get to know other au pairs and, of course, practise your English!
Sunday 18th September
One-day Trip: Cork & Blarney Castle
Departure: 6:50am. Meet at 6.40am (Note the early start!)at Molly Malone statue on Suffolk Street.
Please note: This trip must be booked in advance. Book at the reception before Thursday lunchtime.
Trip includes some time in Cork, entrance to the rock of Cashel and the Blarney Castle and its famous stone. Legend says if you kiss it you will get the ‘gift of the gab’ – the ability to speak very well!
