Monday Workshop Series – Learn English through lyrics of popular songs

At 45, Parnell Square West

Price: Free and open to all students!

Learn English through the lyrics of famous songs! This week you will go through the lyrics of the song ‘Do I wanna know?’ sang by Arctic Monkeys. Focus on the pronunciation of the words, through listening and reading exercises, and on their meaning! Get the general sense of the song and discuss it! Hear it here.

Trip to Dalkey

Meet at 2pm at the reception at 5 Talbot Street.

Price: €6.15 DART Return ticket

Come with us for a walk in the lovely village of Dalkey! Take a stroll in the past, enjoy the views of the Dublin Bay…and practise some English with fellow students! Dalkey is a popular location, both as a place to live and as a tourist destination. It has a real village feel and it is just half an hour from Dublin!

Friday, 21st July

Pub Night: The Porterhouse Central

Price: Free in, buy your own drinks

Location: 45 Nassau St, Dublin 2 (Near the bottom of Grafton Street)

Meet there at 9pm or at the school reception at 8:50pm.

The Porterhouse Central is a lively pub with a welcoming atmosphere. The pub offers an extensive range of imported bottled beers, along with wines, cocktails and micro self-brewed draught beers. Come along and have a beer with us!

Saturday, 22nd July

Au Pair Club Café

1pm to 3pm – At 45 Parnell Square West

Price: Free and open to all au pairs!

Come and have a nice cup of tea or coffee and some cake, cookies or fruit while enjoying the company of other au pairs.

Sunday, 23rd July

Day Trip: Game of Thrones tour

Price: €55

Departure: 7:45am at Hilton Garden Inn (formerly Jurys Inn), Custom House Quay.

Join us exploring the magic sites where many Game of Thrones’ key scenes were shot and let yourself be immersed in the mood of the North!

Please note: This trip must be booked in advance. Book at the reception (5 Talbot Street) before Thursday lunchtime. Places are limited, early booking is advised!

Although this is a coach tour, please note that this coach tour also includes two locations treks, one in the morning at Tollymore forest (3kms), the other in the afternoon at Castle Ward Estate (3kms). Accordingly, this tour is not recommended for anyone with limited mobility. Please wear outdoor footwear and dress appropriately for the Northern Irish weather.
